The collage accompanies the article “From Industrial Romanticism to Office Romanticism” by Santeri Paronen & Cecilia Aintila

Made with some of the materials I have gathered since 2018 with my project ᴏꜰꜰɪᴄᴇ ᴀᴇꜱᴛʜᴇᴛɪᴄꜱ, which investigates the intersections of labor and gender in the contemporary workplace, and collects visual and textual representations of offices in the fields of architecture, design, pop culture, media, and theory.

What happens when there is no budget? How can we recognise and value different types of labour? How can we conduct rewarding collaborations that also explore the idea of alternative currencies?

The workshop invites participants to imagine more sustainable and long-term ways of distributing resources, and to prioritise collective well-being over individual comfort.

During the workshop, excerpts from FCH's publication Windows of Tolerance: Tools for Ideal Collaborations in an Unideal World were shared, as well as verbal, edible, textual, and artwork prompts to guide the conversation. A flag artwork by Gladys Camilo accompanied the workshop at the Contemporary Art Museum of Estonia (EKKM) yard.
